Feeding

You've probably figured out by now that you need to give your chao those tasty little nuts that grow on the trees in your gardens. But, to feed the cute little A-lifes you need to get the food for them, just wait until they knock down food themselves, or wait until the chao grab the food from the ground after it has fallen from the tree.

To get your little chao some food press the (A) button when you are close to the tree that you want a nut from and when in the corner of the screen has an action bubble has "Touch (A)". Your character will touch the tree, hold the directional stick in any direction to shake the tree. After shaking the tree for a few seconds a nut will fall onto the ground.

Death/Rebirth

Yes, your chao live... your chao die... But, these animals only have around 35 hours to live, but, there is hope! If you are very careful with and nice to your chao once it goes into that bitter-sweet cacoon it will leave an egg behind. But, for you that abuse your chao, you will never get him back. When your chao gets reborn it will have the same name, grades, and toys. So, take care of your pet, and you won't have to say good goodbye to him, ever.

Evolving

Feed your chao, give it animals, and wait awhile. You chao will cocoon and hopefully come out looking cooler. 

After feeding your chao around forty nuts he will cocoon and look different, unless stamina is his highest stat then he will just get a little bigger...

After the first evoloution your chao will go through another growth. But, this time he doesn't cocoon. After his first mating season you can start giving him drives or animals of the stat that you want him to grow into. Minor changes will be made to your chao after each drive of animals. It will take around 300-1,500 items to finish the second evolution.

Races

Behind the waterfall in the normal garden and into the cave you will find the entrance to the Race and Karate sections. You can get toys for your chao and emblems from the Races and Karate. Most toys will go to the chao that won the race. Some of the other toys will be held in a certain garden.

Karate

Also behind the waterfall is the Karate section, here is the best place to compete your chao with others. And you can see some preaty awesome chao in the last few races. But, you can only earn emblems from Karate...
